The pilot test effect of advanced treatment of tail water from Gaobeidian, Huayuan Environment, which is a new pollutant, is remarkable.


Huayuan Environment, in conjunction with Beijing Drainage Group, achieved phased results in the pilot test of tail water nano-ceramic membrane catalytic oxidation advanced treatment carried out in Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant. The phased test data were released. The sampling and test results on August 30 showed that the removal rate of PPCPs by the pilot test equipment reached 97%, meeting the national demand for new pollutant removal. The pilot equipment has obvious removal efficiency for regular pollutants such as CODCr, chroma, turbidity, turbidity and TP, the corresponding effluent index meets the requirements of class II water or class I water on the surface, and also has a certain removal effect on TN.

From the perspective of improving the quality of the ecological environment and environmental risk management, persistent organic pollutants, endocrine disruptors, antibiotics, and microplastics are defined as new pollutants after being discharged into the environment. As early as March 2022, the government work report emphasized the strengthening of new pollutant control; by May 2022, the General Office of the State Council issued the Action Plan for New Pollutant Control; and by July 2022, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued some new pollutants with emission standards have been incorporated into the environmental impact assessment system. The word "new pollutants" is constantly brushing the environmental protection circle, and its prevention and treatment has become the focus of ecological and environmental protection work at present and in the future.

New pollutants can not only accumulate in organisms, but also exist in various environmental media such as water, air and soil. Compared with traditional pollutants, the concentration of new pollutants is generally low, but they have high concealment, stability and persistence. At present, the traditional sewage treatment system mainly removes regular pollutants, and the removal capacity of new pollutants is low.

Against this background, Huayuan Environment, in conjunction with Beijing Drainage Group, has carried out scientific and technological research on advanced treatment of new sewage pollutants, carried out technical exploration on toxic and harmful chemicals, antibiotics and microplastics, and launched a pilot test of advanced treatment of tail water at Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant of Beijing Drainage Group.

In this pilot project, the new catalytic function nano-flat ceramic membrane and its integrated process equipment developed by Huayuan Environmental Research and Development are used to investigate the removal effect and process conditions of new pollutants by the new process, verify the feasibility of the process and examine the economy of the process.

This pilot test demonstrates that the advanced treatment process of Huayuan Environmental MNR has significant effect and application value for the removal of new pollutants. As one of the key research directions in the future, Huayuan Environment will continue to promote new pollutant treatment tests, verify the removal effect of the pilot equipment and further refine the operating parameters, and analyze the economic performance of the pilot equipment to provide support for large-scale industrial applications and play a greater role in the broader application market.
